Who: This is hosten by Kiwanis (old people Key Club), and all the money raised will go to support Pediatric Trauma Prevention (PTP).

Union Tribune Race for Literacy

Union Tribune Race for Literacy!

What: Help with a water station for the UT's Race for Literacy. We will assist with set-up of water station, hand out water and clean-up.

When: Sunday May 3rd, 2009 from 700am-1000am. We will be meeting on front of TPHS for rides at 6:25am.

Poway Spirit Day/ April DCM!

Do you like to bond with your divisional Key Clubbers, while serving the lovely community of Poway, while attending a divisional council meeting (DCM)??

Come join the lovely red bulls of Division 37 South at a service event/DCM combo!

What: Poway Spirit Day (service event)
When: April 25, 7:30am-12:00pm
Where: Poway Boys and Girls Club-- 12988 Bowron Road, Poway 92064
--> We will drive to a service event from there!

AFTER the service event, the April DCM will be held back at the Boys and Girls Club. (FREE lunch provided!)

Multiple Schlerosis Walk!!!

What: Join us for the Walk MS 2009. It’s a fun and festive event that raises funds to help people affected by multiple sclerosis-a disease of the central nervous system that has no known cause or cure. We will be cheering on people who are participating in this amazing race!

When: Sunday April 26th 2009 from 6:45am-10:00am. We will be meeting on front of TPHS for rides at 6:10am.

Where: LEGOLAND!!!! 1 LEGOLAND Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008

Directions for Drivers: Merge onto the I-5. eTake the exit Palomar Airport Road – Head East. Turn left on The Crossings Road. Then Left Into LEGOLAND Delivery Entrance. Please bring photo ID and stop at security gates. All Carlsbad volunteers will park in Lot E. We will be meeting in this Lot.


******IMPORTANT: In order to participate in this AWESOME EVENT, you MUST register online at http://www.mswalk.com/ scroll down the left hand menu under "Support the MS Walk" and click on "volunteer registration". Check the option that says "Route Cheerers/Course Marshal - Rest Stop #2 Carlsbad - LEGOLAND -April 6, 2009 7:00am - 10:00am". Click CONTINUE. Fill out the registration (name, address, phone, email, t-shirt size, etc.) REMEMBER that you are volunteering as GROUP, not individual. Under "Provide the individual or group name", type your club name as "Torrey Pines HS Key Club." Press Continue.

All volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parents permission to volunteer. There is a waiver as part of the confirmation that Linda Ingram will send to each volunteer once they register ONLINE. Registration for volunteering will have a DEADLINE, so go online and register by April 5th.

Rummage Sale!

Please bring any items that you would like to get rid of to the Rummage Sale!!

You can bring to the next meeting, or on Friday April 24 at the sale, or you can drop it off at my house (Concact me if that is the case).

Items such as: clothes, books, DVD's, CD's, furniture, accesories, shoes, hats, and lots of pretty stuff!

Can you bring tables, tarps, canopies?? Help us out by bringing some "set-up equpment we will be needing.

Plant Sale Volunteering

---> This plant sale will hold spring blooms form the 2009 Ecke Pack Trials (industry trade show) and will not be available to the public until 2010. All proceeds from the Plant Sale will go directly to Community Resource Center (dedicated in provided service to domestic violence victims and survivors) and help support our vital social service programs.


What: Come help guests pick out plants, take plants to their cars and load car
Where: Ecke Ranch, 800 Ecke Ranch Road (There will be NO acces from Saxony Road!
When: April 18, 8am-12:30pm

Directions from I-5:

-Exit Encinitas Blvd. and turn East.

-Left turn at Quail Gardens Drive (Sunshine Gardens is on the corner)

-Left turn at Ecke Ranch Road. Ecke Ranch Road is just past the entrance for Quail Botanical Gardens.

-Parking attendants will direct you where to park.

Collecting Soda Can Lids

What?
This "event" is like the ink cartridge collection. On soda cans, there are those lids that you flip inwards to open the soda-you should SAVE those!
Give them to me at the weekly meetings or whenever.
Each lid is worth 1 minute, which, I know, doesn't seem like much of anything, but just keep collecting them when you drink soda, and eventually they'll add up!

Please turn in at least 30 or 60 at a time; 0.5 and 1 are easy numbers to work with :)
