Bumble Bee 5K
TP Basketball Tournament
What: Help man a concession stand or hand out flyers and t-shirts at one of the largest high school basketball tournaments in the nation. Seventy nine schools will be participating in the tournament, which will take place at multiple gyms in the area, TPHS being one of them! Each shift will have two volunteers, so keep that in mind and sign up with a friend :)

What: Keep scores for games per team, track time in penalty box, and assist with start/finish timerat the Special Olympics' Fall Games Floor Hockey Championship.

What: Mt. Carmel/Westview PTP Party. Admission is $10. There will be food (Panda Express, chips, ice cream, s'mores, etc) and games (twister, cranium, card games, video games, and park games). There will also be blasting music which you know means... DANCING!

What: PACT works year round to educate and inspire others through the arts. Inspire others through your voice this holiday season! Sing Christmas Carols for Nursing Home Residents in Encinitas and uplift underserved members of our community.

What: Assist at the race by manning the water station, cheering on the runners, and other miscellaneous tasks.
Shelter Island 5K Run/Walk
Trick-or-Treat for Cans
What: Collect cans from neighborhoods around TPHS! Canned/packaged food will go toward the Nov. 21 Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, which will organize food baskets for needy families over the holidays. Help us out by bringing a group of your friends and Trick-or-Treat for cans!
When: Saturday, Oct. 30 (meet at school at 2:30 p.m., event will end at around 5:00 p.m.)
Where: around TPHS, so no rides!
Notes: bags and Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes will be provided, we will also distribute a handout of what you can say to donors, and a map of each groups route

What: Helping out at a kids festival hosted by the San Diego Coastal Chamber of Commerce with proceeds that benefit the Egoscue Foundation.

Bike MS
What: Help man a water station, refreshment stand and set up signs at a stop along a 100-mile bike route! Cheer on riders helping fundraise for research on Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that targets the brain and spinal cord.

Dress: You should wear comfortable clothing such as jeans and sneakers. Every volunteer will be given a free t-shirt!
Waiver: Please complete the attached form before you arrive as this will help the check-in process run smoother. If you are under the age of 18, you must have this signed by a parent or guardian before the event.

KOZ Woman's Triathlon
WHAT: Help out at a triathlon by handing out water, manning finish line posts and cheering on athletes at a triathlon supporting breast cancer research.
KOZ Mission Bay Triathlon
What: Be a part of the volunteer team for the Mission Bay Triathlon, which benefits the Challenged Athletes Foundation. CAF raises funds for disabled individuals to purchase special adaptive sports equipment, train and travel to sporting events. We will be signing up for volunteering positions at the finish line, such as water stations, manning refreshment booths or logging times at the finish line! This event also helps fundraise for TPKC, because we get $10 for every volunteer that attends; some of the funds we receive will go toward the 2011 District Convention in Anaheim, while the rest will go toward the ELIMINATE project battling maternal-neonatal tetanus.

What: Division 31 is hosting a Region 1 & 2 Dodgeball Tournament to raise money for Pediatric Trauma Prevention (PTP)
Heart Walk

What: We will set-up, hand out food and break down. Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of all Americans and congenital cardiovascular defects are the most common cause of infant death from birth defects. We will be helping the American Heart Association raise money for research and life-saving information.

Community and Habitat Cleanup Qualcomm Stadium
What: As part of the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, help clean up the San Diego River by getting rid of trash and other junk that is making our beautiful river gross and dirty. Make sure to dress for working outdoors including closed shoes (no sandals please!) a hat and sunscreen are also highly recommended, we will have all tools and supplies.

San Diego Fire Run
What: Volunteer at a run benefiting local charities - the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation, Surfrider, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Jeans for Justice and Volunteer San Diego. Help man water stations, direct runners and cheer them on! We will be course marshals for this event, so we have an early shift...breakfast provided :]

Officer Training Conference & August DCM
What: The Officer Training Conference (OTC) is open to all Key Club members, and is a great way to learn more about Key Club on the divisional level. If you are interested in becoming more involved with Key Club, running for a position or learning about new opportunities, this is a great event to go to. Meet Key Clubbers from over 15 different high schools in our area and talk to our divisional leadership as well.
They are currently collecting new and gently used books to benefit foster youth throughout San Diego County. There are currently over 1,600 licensed foster homes in San Diego county, providing a loving and stable home environment for anywhere between 1 - 5 youth at any given time. With school getting back into session soon, they are trying to make the new school year a positive one. Books on any topic of interest to youth between 3-18 are welcome. (:

Dinner, snacks, coffee, and other refreshments will be provided. There will also be an optional tour of the KPBS set some time during the event.

You will need to find your own means of transportation to get to Solana Highlands for this event! We will not be providing rides since Solana Highlands is so close. Amazing Quest, Year-End Party, Family BBQ and Silent Auction
Where: Solana Pacific
When: May 14th, 2010
Time: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
What: We will be volunteering as Race Officials for the Amazing Quest stations, with the silent auction and sale of opportunity drawing raffle tickets, with the food service stations for the pizza and water distribution for racers (in the Solana Pacific auditorium) and the BBQ (Phil's BBQ is the caterer), and with a few games (cake walk and small games). There will be a DJ at the event.

9th Annual San Elijo Lagoon Day!
What: As a part of San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, this event is to raise awareness for one of San Diego's last estuaries. :( We will be helping out with some booths, such as face painting, arts and crafts for the children, and perhaps learn a thing or two about preserving the San Elijo Lagoon!

What: Help preserve open space park lands by picking up trash, removing non-native plants, planting native plants (depending on time of year) and maintaining the trail. Tools and gloves are provided. You should wear closed-toe shoes and protection from the sun (hat, sunscreen, etc) and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Del Mar Beach Cleanup
What: Help other local volunteers clean up the Del Mar beach by picking up trash and helping the environment! Bags and water are provided, but remember to wear a hat and sunscreen since it might be sunny :]
