Jedidiah Warehouse Sale

bigger images: http://www.jedidiahusa.com/blogs/index.php/2008/11/20/warehouse-sale?blog=65

Also, we are having a Key Club event this Saturday. We will be meeting in front of TPHS at 8 am for carpools. The event lasts until 10 am.

This Saturday, Jedidiah Clothing, a company that raises for all different types of disadvantaged peoples through organizations like World Vision, is having a clothing sale this Saturday (December 6th).

Before you say anything, this event is ANYTHING BUT paying for hours. Read carefully...

In the attached two pictures you will see that the event raises money for Gabriel House, which helps severely handicapped children and children with immune deficiency disorders of impoverished families--free of charge. In order to enter the Jedidiah Warehouse Sale, you must bring one item (a list of acceptable items are listed in the bottom of the second attached picture). I AM HAVING IT REQURIED THAT ALL KEY CLUBBERS MUST BRING 3 ITEMS TO ATTEND THE EVENT. No exceptions. If you do not want to pay money, you can just bring 3 food items lying around your house.

Also, if you really do not want to go shopping, you can bring the donated items to TPHS at 8 am so we can take them to the store, and still receive your hours. I just thought it would be cool to publicize this event, seeing as money from the clothes also goes to Gabriel House. You will not get any hours for the amount of clothes you buy. Even if you don't want to go pay money for clothes, you can window shop.

I hope I didn't stress the point too much that this is not paying for hours, but for supporting an important cause! We have sadly had trouble getting members to donate items in the past, so hopefully this serves as some incentive (but that's obviously not the point!!!).

Please check out their website http://www.jedidiahusa.com/home!

What? The Angel's Depot is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished senior citizens in San Diego County by collecting food. We can help by donating food for the "Senior Food-for-a-Week" Emergengy Meal Boxes distributed FREE to senior citizens living on $900 or less per month.

April is "PEANUTTY-IST PEANUT BUTTER" MONTH! You will recieve hours for collecting plastic jars of SMOOTH STYLE peanut butter this month. We are also collecting boxes of CHEERIOS as well! You can turn them in to Nadia Farjood at any time, preferably on Wednesday at the Key Club general meeting.

Also, if you are interested in helping out at the Angel's Depot to help with food box packing, please contact Nadia Farjood. We can pack food on the first and second Tuesday evenings (6-7:30 p.m.) of each month, but it must be scheduled in advance so please be sure to send an e-mail so we can tell the volunteer coordinator how many to expect.

Noah Severns is a fourth grader at Del Mar Hills Academy of Art & Sciences who was diagnosed with Osteoscarcoma (a type of bone cancer) at age 6. He underwent surgerty to remove the cancerous part of his skull and had a plate implanted to protect his brain.

Over the course of the last three yeras, Noah has needed numerous transfusions of platelets and whole blood during subsequent surgeries to remove the cancer that had spread to his lungs. This past summer, Noah underwent a cricical surgery to remove the plate in his head and replace it with muscle from his stomach to increase the blood flow and prevent infection. More recently, Noah ahs been undergoing a stronger chemotherapy but still has managed to make it to school every day.

After 11 surgeries and ongoing chemotherapy treatments, Noah is still a smiling boy and a true inspiration! Support Noah by purchasing a bracelet for $5 (it is a green bracelet that says No One As Heroic for his name).
