Clothing SWAP Fundraiser

What: We will be setting up, greeting guests, and cleaning up at the Swap With a Purpose fundraiser to raise funds for the Cancer Coping Center through swap meets.

When: Sunday, May 2nd @ 3:30PM-7:30PM
2 hour shifts: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM & 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Where: 4542 Shorepointe Way. San Diego, CA 92130

There will be no rides to this event because it is in a nearby home in Carmel Valley.
Please wear either a white top and black pants or a black skirt or ladies, a black dress.

PB Cleanup

What: We will be helping out in a Jesus Christ Saves Ministries project to preserve one of San Diego's coastline.

When: Saturday, May 1st @ 10:00AM-1:00PM (Meet @ 9:30AM at school)

Teen Senior Connect

What: Helping elders at a retirement home with basic computer skills and technical activities. (i.e. sending out emails or uploading pictures)

When: Saturday, May 1st @ 1:00PM-3:30PM (Meet @ 12:30PM at school)

Where: La Vida Del Mar Retirement Home

Only approximately 2-4 people may attend.

Servapalooza

What: Servapalooza. We will be helping nonprofit organizations with their service-projects for the youth. For instance, we could be assisting children with finger painting, directing them to make bookmarks for the libraries, etc.

When: Sunday, April 25th @ 9:15am-4:30pm [meet at school at 8:45am]

Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk for Epilepsy 2010

What: the 11th Annual Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk for Epilepsy 2010

When: Sunday, April 25th @ 10am-2:30pm [meet at school at 9:30am]

Where: DeAnza Cove in Mission Bay

Why: The goal of Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk for Epilepsy is to raise public awareness about epilepsy, reduce the stigma of seizures, and raise funds for the free programs and services of the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County. They rely on people like you to provide the manpower that makes it possible to put on such a spectacular event, so volunteer now!

In order to volunteer at this event, you need to fill out two very important things: a VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM and a VOLUNTEER WAIVER FORM. You need to either EMAIL the two forms to tphskeyclub@gmail.com OR DELIVER them to Joey Nievera by this FRIDAY AT THE LATEST!!! If you do not get your two forms in by Friday, April 23, then you will not be able to volunteer so please please please turn them both in on time! We prefer that you email them rather than print them out because it would be easier to turn in and it would save trees. Go green! Or better yet, GO HUMAN and volunteer! =D

Rummage Sale Donations

The TPHS rummage sale is on Saturday, April 24th, 9-12noon.
We might need volunteers, but we will update you on that at the meeting on Thursday.
DONATIONS: Depending on the amount of stuff you donate, the hours granted will be around 1-2 hours.
Drop off your donations at this Thursday meeting in the Lecture Hall at lunch, or before/after school on Friday.

Haiti Tshirt Week

The cost is $10. They will be sold after school, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, at the BOTTOM of the ramp. (The ramp is the path from school down to the back parking lot, next to the counseling center. Go to the BOTTOM of the ramp this time!)


Shirts are CSF credit, and is a NHS-affiliated event.
The shirts come in colors Navy Blue, Maroon Red, Forest Green, and Black.

April DCM/ Beach Cleanup!

What: This is Jennifer Zhang's (our immediate past LTG) LAST DCM this year, and Vivian Yu's (our NEW LTG) FIRST DCM. For the first half, we will be having a BEACH CLEANUP from 11AM-1PM. The DCM will follow. Supplies, pizza, and drinks will be PROVIDED. HECK YES.

When: Saturday April 24th, 2010 from 11:00AM-2:15PM. (THERE WILL BE NO RIDES)

Where: TP State Reserve Beach. TPKC will meet across the bathrooms next to the SOUTH BEACH parking lot at the BENCH. (The parking lot that is far away from the bridge.) Afterwards, we can join up with the rest of the division. :)

Stella Nova Dance Company's presentation: "Pranja Within"

What: Stella Nova Dance Company is looking for volunteers to assist with concessions in the lobby of the theater and ushers for their performances. Volunteers need to assist with set up and opening of the house. All volunteers receive complimentary admission to the performance.

Graffiti Clean Up Day

Please print and bring this WAIVER to the event in order to volunteer.

What: Working closely with local churches, business owners and residents, this successful community gathering results in a huge “clean-up”—removing unsightly graffiti from our streets, traffic signs, public and private property. Donated by local businesses, we will provide safety goggles, gloves, tools, paint—everything you need to cover up or remove graffiti.
When: Saturday, April 17, 2010
Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Meet at school at 8:30AM)
Where: Meet at PB Presbyterian Church - 1675 Garnet Ave.

Tour de Cure

What: The Tour de Cure is an annual nationwide bicycling event that supports the American Diabetes Association. It raises money to support education and research benefitting all people affected by any type of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association depends on volunteers to ensure that this event runs smoothly. We will assist with lunch duty, cheering at the finish line, clean up, etc.
When: Saturday, April 17th, 2pm-6pm, Meet at school at 1:30PM - rides are greatly appreciated!
Where: San Elijo Campus of MiraCosta College on Manchester (Volunteer Parking will be on the left as you pull into the college - down near the basketball courts.)
Why: to support the American Diabetes Association

Cardiovascular Disease Foundation 5K Walk for Life & Health Fair

Fill out and bring this WAIVER to the event.
Our Volunteer Team will help with set-up, marking the course, assisting vendors, organizing goodie bags & t-shirts, assisting with parking, distributing food, working in the kids zone, making announcements, helping with screenings, etc. It's a fun day with music under the sun and next to the beach - bring sunscreen! Arrangements can be made for volunteers, who may be able to work only part of the day.

When: Sunday, April 18th, 7:00AM to 12:00PM (Meet at school 6:30AM)
You can stay at the event until 4:30PM - but we will be leaving at 12noon. If you stay, please arrange your own rides back, and bring proof of your volunteering to anyone on the board. (Just ask for proof of volunteer hours)
Where: Oceanside Pier Amphitheater, 200 N. Strand, Oceanside, CA 92054
We greatly appreciate rides for carpooling! You get 30 minutes for providing rides.
Why: By volunteering, walking or attending the Fair, everyone will help raise awareness about ways to stop heart disease. Childhood obesity, Diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure are risk factors of heart disease and many Student Service Organizations from around the County come together on this day to help promote exercise and good habits. By volunteering at the health fair, you are contributing to a free educational service - teaching people how to prevent heart disease.

What: HELP KEEP OUR DEL MAR BEACH CLEAN!!!! All supplies are provided, and each site is led by a trained site captain to greet you at your chosen cleanup site. Volunteers will receive commemorative event reusable water bottles (while supplies last). This event is a part of "I LOVE A CLEAN SAN DIEGO". And yes.... I do :)

HOW: You guys get your parents to drive please!! Remember you get an extra 30 minutes for driving.

Gonzales Canyon Cleanup

What: We will be doing some "Canyon Care"--possibly re-establishing native plants, watering them, creating a path so people can hike in the canyon, removing ice plants--basically whatever the Park Ranger wants us to do.

Wear long pants as you will be sitting on the ground. Everyone under 18 must have a parent sign the volunteer form which you will fill out when you get there. Sturdy closed toe shoes, sunscreen, a hat, water and a weeding tool, or large screwdriver or a small hand shovel and gloves will be needed.
