What: Each event has a variety of projects, such as sorting, organizing, cleaning, and repacking bulk food items into family size bags. Volunteers will sort through donations and organize food into categories for the 165 agencies to easily gather what is needed for the community the next day.

Habitat Restoration

Swim Meet

What: We will be volunteering at a swim meet. We time swimmers, fill out paperwork (like awards for swimmers), and work at the food booth.

Gonzales Canyon

What: Helping with picking up trash, picking non-native plants, planting native plants, and maintaing the trail. Make sure to wear closed-toe shoes and bring any protection from the sun (hat, sunscreen, etc). You will be provided with gloves. And bring a water bottle, since it can get pretty warm outside.

La Clase Mágica Book Fair

What: Help out at the La Clase Mágica Book Fair. We will be helping with set up and clean up as well as a variety of games like a bean bag toss. We are also helping out with selling food, and they are allowing us to sell our own baked goods. This event will be similar to the Solana Highlands Carnival in previous years.

What: Touch-A-Truck 2011 is a car show for kids to raise funds for cancer research. Volunteers will do a variety of things, such as booth set-up, safety fencing installation and removal, traffic control, admission booth assistance, and putting up and taking down signs.

Division 37 South Banquet

Hey Key Clubbers! The end of the year banquet will be on June 17th, from 5 pm to 10 pm at the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo. Come and celebrate the last year's achievements with the IP board. There will be good food, music, a beautiful venue, and a dance that night. The June DCM will also take place that day too. Pricing is tentatively set at $20. Attire will be semi-formal. There is a limit of 120 people that can go from all the schools in our division, so if you would like to go please email tphskeyclub@gmail.com as soon as possible. Encinitas Sprint Triathlon

What: Help out at the Encinitas Sprint Triathlon. We will be checking in the pre-registered athletes as well as day-of registration athletes and giving them their bib numbers, swim caps, goodie bags, etc.


When: Saturday, May 14th. 2 shifts: 8 am - 12 noon and 12 noon - 4 pm (meet at school at 7:30 am for the first shift, and 11:30 am for the second shift)

Where: Moonlight Beach, Encinitas

This event also helps fundraise for TPKC, because we will get a donation if we have 20 volunteers for both shifts. Feel free to bring your friends that aren't in Key Club that want to do some community service.

Carmel Valley Egg Hunt

What: Help little kiddies at a local egg hunt :) Responsibilities would include helping run the spring gift tent that nearly 700 children will pass through to select a variety of toys and candy after they’ve completed their egg hunt dash!! The more the merrier, so bring a friend!

What: American Red Cross Annual CPR Saturday Event.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided; water, coffee and tea will be available throughout the day.

We will give you 10 adult and 10 children's tickets, and please remember, you are responsible for them, so we need either the unused ticket back, or the ticket stub + money. Chelsea's Light Foundation 5k

What: Help advertise for the first annual Chelsea's Light Foundation 5k in memory of Chelsea King. We have flyers that we'd love for you to put up in local businesses, restaurants, libraries, coffee shops, and anywhere else you can think of! This is a great event to sign up with a friend :)

Interested in running for a TPHS Key Club officer position? Send us an email with the position you're running for, a paragraph about your qualifications and ideas for us to post on the website, and a few bullet points about yourself! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the board members about their positions. Also, if you would like to sit in on a board meeting, contact us beforehand and we'll give you more information. Good luck!!

Historian (collects pictures over the year, designs a scrapbook for DCON)

Tile Project for UNICEF

What: TP- Relief Team, a coalition of all community service clubs on campus, is installing personalized tiles in front of the school. Tiles will include your name, graduation year and a symbol of your choice. Don't miss your opportunity to leave your legacy at Torrey Pines!

What: A variety of projects such as sorting, organizing, cleaning, and repacking bulk food into family size bags. Volunteers will sort through donations and organize food into categories for the 165 agencies to easily gather what is needed in the community the next day.

KPBS Pledge Event

What: Volunteers help take phone calls on air at the KPBS studio. There will be PRIZES at this event! Not just any gift but official KPBS logo items. There will also be a brief tour of the KPBS studio after the event.

When: Saturday, January 15th from 3:15pm-9:30pm (meet at school at 2:40pm for rides)

Where: 5200 Campanile Drive, San Diego, CA 92182 (SDSU)

*Dinner, snacks, coffee, and other refreshments will be provided. Volunteers work shifts of 20 minute intervals, with plenty of breaks in between. Volunteers must also wear business casual attire.

5K Rescue Run

What: The purpose of the 5K Rescue Run is to raise funds to build a safe house and after care program for victims of Human Trafficking in San Diego. There are potentially 2,000 teens at risk for being prostituted in San Diego and only 12 beds set aside for the specific after care they need. We will be helping with registration at the event, handing out the t-shirts that are ordered at the event, and selling drinks at the event.

When: Saturday January 15th, 2011 9am-12pm meet in front of school @ 8:15am
