Panda Express for Haiti

What: Go to Panda Express this Friday, and 20% of the proceeds goes to buying a SHELTER BOX to be made and shipped to Haiti. Shelter boxes include a tent, supplies, and necessities for up to 10 people, and cost $1000 each to be made and sent.

Bowling Fundraiser

What: Bowling! Self-explanatory. What better way to celebrate the end of finals! with BOWLING, GUITAR HERO, POOL, DDR, and music

When: NEW TIME= SATURDAY, JANUARY 30TH
3-6PM, MEET AT 2:20PM, TPHS FOR RIDES


Where: SDSU bowling alley

Cost is $10 for bowling + FREE Guitar hero, Brawl, foozball, and pool, and all that good stuff

This will be a great event to kick off the second semester and just have fun with your friends/family *+30 minutes if you bring 2 people from outside key club

January DCM

WHAT: DCM, Divisional Council Meeting. Get more involved with Key Club OUTSIDE of our school! You will see what goes on in our division of 15+ schools around San Diego with Key Clubbers like you. Recommended to those who would like to pursue a higher position in our school club in the spring or possibly a divisional position, or for those who just want to have fun and meet other Key Clubbers of Division 37 South!

WHEN: Janurary 30th (NO MORE FINALS!), 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM -- Meet @ School, 12:30PM sharp

WHERE: 130 Woodward Avenue Escondido, CA 92025-2614 (It's Grape Day Park, the cool place with the playground shaped like grape vines and fountain we can play on after the DCM)

UCSD Circle K's Key to College

Circle K's free high school conference will take place Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 8:00am to 3:00pm at Center Hall 109 (Center Hall map)

Registration will take place outside Center Hall next to Library Walk. If you are driving, you may park at Gilman Parking Structure (Gilman Parking Structure map)
UCSD Circle K members will be at Gilman Parking structure to guide Key Clubbers to Center Hall from 7:45am-8:30am on the day of Key to College.

River Clean-Up

What: Go environmental and help clean up a San Diego River!

When: January 23, Saturday, 9AM-12PM (Meet at school at 8:30AM)

Where: Mission Valley Preserve
The project site is located at the west side of the YMCA parking lot in the Mission Valley Preserve. Volunteers are asked to park at the Police department parking lot across the
street at 5215 Gaines St. 92110.
Look for the signs that will direct you to the meeting spot.


Make sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and bring water and wear sunscreen.
Must print+bring WAIVER!!!!!!

Carlsbad Half Marathon

What: Help out at the Carlsbad Half Marathon by manning a water station and being part of the course support team! Cheer on the runners and take in the view right by the beach =] The half marathon benefits a number of different medical charities, such as the American Cancer Society and the Children's Heart Institute Fund. Help volunteer and make this HUGE event happen!!

Juniper Canyon Clean Up

What: To help preserve our open space park lands. There will be projects ranging from trash pickup, non-native plant removal, planting native plants and trail maintenance. It will be loads of fun keeping our Earth green green green!

When: January 16, 2010 8:00am – 11:00am. (Meet @ 7:15AM at school)

Directions: Exit I-805 at University Ave., take it West to Boundary St. turn left, turn right on Palm St. and then a left on Felton St., Felton dead ends into Nutmeg. Park on Street. Meet on the South side of Nutmeg St. at the white fence.

Important note: Please bring water, a hat (if needed), wear sunscreen, and closed-toe shoes are a must. The Park Ranger will provide all gloves and tools necessary.

For those who plan on getting in touch with nature, fill out the waiver!

Goodie Bag Stuffing - Carlsbad Half Marathon

What: Help stuff 20,000 goodie bags for the Carlsbad Half Marathon (which TPHS KC is also volunteering at on Jan. 24) with flyers, samples and coupons for Carlsbad Marathon participants. All volunteers receive a T-shirt. Please register to volunteer online!!


Where: 6118 Innovation Way, Carlsbad CA 92009

When: Saturday, Jan. 16 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. (meet at school @ 7:30 a.m.)

Directions: Take I-5 north and exit at Palomar Airport Road. Head east to Innovation Way, just past El Camino Real. Turn right on Innovation Way and left into the office park on the left side.

Gonzalez Canyon Clean-Up

What: We will be doing some "Canyon Care"--possibly re-establishing native plants, watering them, creating a path so people can hike in the canyon--basically whatever the Park Ranger wants us to do.

When: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Saturday January 9th, 2010

Where: Gonzalez Canyon, Carmel Valley<--SUPER CLOSE TO TPHS. No rides needed.


Directions: 4512 Lansdale Dr., San Diego, CA
Go on Del Mar Heights Rd, then east 1.2 miles to Lansdale (light just after Torrey Pines High School) turn left and make the first left into Torrey Highlands Park. Drive past the Dog Park. Park near the restrooms. Meet at metal gate across road from the restroom, NOT IN FRONT OF SCHOOL. If you forget or do not know how to get there, please call David Shia, the coordinator of this event.

Resolution Run 5/10/15k

What: Man a water station, help hand out goodie bags and cheer at the finish line at the San Diego Resolution Run down at Mission Bay. This race is raising funds for sustainable projects for students in Arusha, Tanzania. The event coordinators need a LOT of help, so sign up to volunteer!
