San Diego Race for Autism

What: The National Foundation for Autism Research is holding the 6th Annual San Diego Race for Autism in Balboa Park. The purpose of the 5K Run/Walk is to raise funds for programs to benefit children diagnosed with Autism in the San Diego community.


When: Saturday, March 27th, Meet at school at 5:50AM, event till 11AM

Where: 6th and Laurel, Balboa Park

NEED REGISTRATION FORM, bring on the day of the event

Indie Fest

Celebrate REAL independent music in San Diego! 7 Stages, 100+ Artists and Films


When: Saturday, March 27th, 3-7PM PLEASE MEET AT SCHOOL AT 2:30PM.

This event has a maximum number of 25 volunteers, so if you know FOR SURE you are able to attend, sign up at the MEETING and fill out and email us this VOLUNTEER FORM by deadline FRIDAY MARCH 19th.


You must also attend a volunteer orientation on Saturday, March 20th, 10:30-12Noon at SUNSET Temple, behind Claire de Lune, 2906 University Ave., 92104. (You will receive an hour for attending.)

Gardening at UCSD

Keep the passion of exotic flowers and plants alive at UCSD! We will be taking care of some interesting plans while learning about them, too.


When: Sunday, March 28st, 10AM-12PM
Where: UCSD, meet at Gilman parking structure

Masquerade Ball (Dance/Social)

What: Masquerade dance/social with catered food (Panda Express, pizza, Pat and Oscars, etc), Rockband, Guitar Hero, ping pong, swimming pool, jacuzzi, music, and dancing. A mask is optional, and we'll have a contest for best mask/costume with prizes! We're inviting people from other schools (RB, Poway, CCA, Westview, etc..) anyone is welcome, so bring your friends!


Cost: $10 per person (non-key club and key club members)
DISCOUNT: $15 for two if a KC member brings a friend outside of Key Club

Black Mountain 7K Run

What: To be course marshals, pass out water to runners, hand out goody bags, and help with registration and timing. This race is raising funds for solar energy projects in East Africa.
Jobs will be assigned in the morning. All volunteers will be provided with an event shirt and snacks.

Gonzalez Canyon Clean-Up

What: We will be doing some "Canyon Care"--possibly re-establishing native plants, watering them, creating a path so people can hike in the canyon--basically whatever the Park Ranger wants us to do.

When: Saturday, March 13th, 9AM-12PM
Where: Gonzalez Canyon, right next to TPHS

NOTE: Please bring WATER, a hat (if needed), wear sunscreen, closed-toed shoes and long clothing are a must. All gloves and tools provided as necessary. EXPECT TO GET DOWN AND DIRTY :)

Please make sure all attendees have this WAIVER to bring to the event.

What: Volunteers will be used as scorekeepers, timers, officials, assist with b-ball teams, etc.

St. Patrick's Day Run

WHAT: registration, finish line, water station, and/or timing
WHEN: 5:30am-10:30am meet at school at 5:00am

WHY: for the Children's Hospital and Health Center
HOW: hopefully members can give rides (fingers crossed) haha
FREE STUFF!!: we'll be getting a shirt, DOMINO'S pizza, fruit, and beverage

KPBS Pledge Event

Volunteers help take phone calls from members of the public pledging donations to KPBS -- all of it done during a live on air broadcast with KPBS producers, directors, camera operators and production staff. Requirements: typing plus minimal computer skills, enter pledge information into a simple computer system while wearing a telephone headset.

Light dinner provided (6 pm dinner break of nearly an hour)
Optional station tour after dinner
Snacks, coffee, refreshments throughout
Lots of short breaks -- every 20 min. or so once pledge starts

San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy Kiosk

The San Elijo Lagoon is looking for some volunteers to help design a display for their Conservancy Kiosk. They need a couple of artistic volunteers to take their existing literature and help them create a few materials and display them in such a way as to inform people who use the Reserve about our activities and programs.

If anyone is interested in this volunteer work, please let us know. You will be awarded hours for your work if it is accepted. Email tphskeyclub@gmail.com if you are interested!

Bake Sale for Haiti

Remember and help Haiti. Their tragedy is not over yet, and still needs a lot of help. See those posters about a Bake Sale for Haiti around the school? Key Club is hosting it, and we need YOU to help bake goods for our Bake Sale this saturday.


When: Drop off baked goods from 2:30-3:30PM
Where: Carmel Valley Vons (3850 Valley Center Dr)

OR Visit and buy baked goods anytime from 10AM-6PM. We will also be taking orders for TSHIRTS. The design is amazing. Come see it at the next meeting at lunch in the Lecture Hall on Thursday.

Ruffin Canyon Enhancement

Help preserve our open space park lands by volunteering. Projects include trash pickup, non-native plant removal, planting native plants (depending on time of year) and trail maintenance.

When: Saturday, March 6th, 9:00AM to 12:00PM - Meet at school at 8:35AM

Teen Senior Connect

What: Help elders at a retirement home with basic computer skills and technical activities. (Such as uploading pictures or searching something on Google.) Also, a piano player is welcome to play on their grand piano for residents to enjoy (if the piano is available).


When: Saturday March 6, 1:00-around 3:00PM (Meet @ 12:30PM at school)
Where: La Vida Del Mar Retirement Home
Only approximately 2-4 people may attend.

Union Tribune Race for Literacy

Race for Literacy 8K Run/Walk
This event will take place rain or shine. Be a part of this fun event weekend by volunteering. Hundreds of volunteers are needed and jobs vary - choose one that sounds like fun to you. Volunteers each receive a cool event T-shirt.


When: Sunday, March 7th, 6:30-8:30AM (Meet at school at 6:00AM SHARP-if you're late, we have to leave without you to be on time to the event)

Ugly Dog Contest

The 15th original DMK Ugly Dog Contest, is sponsored by the Del Mar Kiwanis (they're like our Key Club advisors). Basic volunteering and helping out anything they need us to do. Setting up chairs, tents, etc.


When: Sunday, March 7, 8:30AM, end time TBA (but it is a short event)
