*This event will also include the February DCM for D37N (surfers) and D37S (red bulls)

MDA Muscle Walk

What: help out with basic race procedures and support the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Members, please take the time to read the election statements, and keep in mind that whoever is elected to these positions will serve as Key Club leaders for the next year. Please take into account experience and dedication, rather than choosing your friends :)

Applicants, thank you for your interest in applying to be a leader on the TPHS Key Club Board! Please keep in mind that it is a great honor and time commitment to serve the largest community service groups on campus, and if you are running for a position, Key Club must be a top priority. We are looking for responsible, dedicated, charismatic leaders who are passionate about community service and who have a vision to take Key Club to even greater heights!

ELECTIONS will be FEBRUARY 23!! All paid members will receive a ballot.

After election, officer-elects will learn under the experience of the current board. They will be instated after DCON (April 15-17, 2011) and will serve in their position until the following District Convention in 2012.

Chelsea's Light Foundation 5k

What: Help advertise for the first annual Chelsea's Light Foundation 5k in memory of Chelsea King. We have flyers that we'd love for you to put up in local businesses, restaurants, libraries, coffee shops, and anywhere else you can think of! This is a great event to sign up with a friend :)

If you would like to help out, please contact us with the location you would like to cover, and we can give you 10 flyers (OR you can print them). Please send us an email with the names of the locations you posted a flyer at, and we'll give you 1 hour for every 5 locations! You can go around shopping centers such as the Carmel Plaza, Del Mar Highlands, or Torrey Hills locations.

TPKC Officer Elections

Interested in running for a TPHS Key Club officer position? Send us an email with the position you're running for, a paragraph about your qualifications and ideas for us to post on the website, and a few bullet points about yourself! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the board members about their positions. Also, if you would like to sit in on a board meeting, contact us beforehand and we'll give you more information. Good luck!!

ELECTIONS will be on Feb. 23 at the lunch meeting. Please prepare a short speech for elections.

MEMBERS: if you are a paid member of TPKC, please try to attend the Feb. 23 elections in order to decide your leadership for next year! Only paid members will receive a ballot, so make sure you have turned them in :)

Officer positions are as follows:
President (runs general meetings and board meetings)
Vice President (assists president and coordinates District Convention)
Secretary (takes notes, keeps hours/roster, sends in monthly report forms)
Treasurer (collects dues, organizes fundraisers)
Bulletin Editor (posts events on the website, sends out mass emails)
Historian (collects pictures over the year, designs a scrapbook for DCON)

Tile Project for UNICEF

What: TP- Relief Team, a coalition of all community service clubs on campus, is installing personalized tiles in front of the school. Tiles will include your name, graduation year and a symbol of your choice. Don't miss your opportunity to leave your legacy at Torrey Pines!

When: Turn in your forms by February 28th

Where: You may print out your order form here. Turn them in at the Student Store.

Why: 100% of the profits will be donated to UNICEF

Price: 1 Tile = $50 OR 2 Tiles = $75

What: Wristbands are here!! They will be available at meetings :) We only have 200 of them, and we're selling them to other Key Clubbers in the division as well, so get one while you can!

Gardening at UCSD

Keep the passion of exotic flowers and plants alive at UCSD! We will be taking care of some interesting plants while learning about them, too.


When: Sunday, February 6th, 2011 from 10am-12pm
Where: UCSD, meet at Gilman parking structure

Feeding America of San Diego

What: A variety of projects such as sorting, organizing, cleaning, and repacking bulk food into family size bags. Volunteers will sort through donations and organize food into categories for the 165 agencies to easily gather what is needed in the community the next day.

When: Saturday February 5th, 2011 9:00AM - 12:00PM (meet at TPHS at 8:35AM for rides)
